Uninor Launches GPRS Service for Prepaid Customers

Uninor has launched GPRS service for its prepaid customers in 8 telecom circles. Uninor has launched the GPRS service with two GPRS plans for Rs. 9 and Rs. 90.

Uninor has launched its GPRS service in 8 telecom circles, which are UP West, UP East, Bihar, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. Customers can avail GPRS plan for Rs. 9 and Rs. 90 and enjoy free data usage upto 60MB with 3 days validity and 3GB respectively and 30 days validity. Beyond free usage customers will be charged at 10 paisa per 10KB. Customers can also avail free trial period for internet browsing till 6th May.
“We had stated earlier that a lot can be done using the opportunities already available on 2G platforms to offer a good quality data experience and services. We make that start today,” said David Meneghello, Executive Vice-President, Marketing at Uninor.
“Uninor will focus hard on data, building on our data capabilities to launch many more exciting ideas soon. We have some solid experience in markets very similar to India with unique and successful data-based applications. So watch this space for innovation,” he added.
