After the success of its recent, affordable and unique tariff plans for voice services, IDEA Cellular, the pan-India mobile operator has now introduced a breakthrough plan for data services, offering unlimited internet usage for mobile subscribers in Mumbai. Nowmobile subscribers can surf the internet, chat, connect with friends and relatives on social networking sites, email etc. for just Rs. 98.With the growth in availability of affordable GPRS enabled handsets, mobile data services is set to increase in popularity and usage. Over 1.5 million IDEA subscribers and other mobile internet users in Mumbai can now access GPRS services for as low as Rs. 98 for a period of 30 days.Those who wish to access GPRS services for limited period, can go for Rs. 8 per day plan, offering free usage for up to 70 MB download. The daily plan would remain active, until deactivated by the user, and charges of Rs. 5 per MB will apply for download beyond 70 MB limit.Mr. Sashi Shankar, Chief Operating Officer – Mumbai, IDEA Cellularsaid, “Large number of mobile users are now accessing data serviceson their phones.
