BIG TV launches live DVR services

ADAG’s DTH services arm, Reliance BIG TV launched high definition set-top with Live digital TV recording capabilities across 100 cities of India.

On the launch, Sanjay Behl, CEO, Reliance Big TV said, “"This is India''s first product with a dual benefit of High Definition viewing and Digital Video Recorder in a single Set Top Box. Further, Reliance BIG TV is the only service provider to offer recording capability upwards of 200 hours and auniversal remote control which can manage upto 3 devices.”

BIG TV claims that its HD DVR offering is capable of recording almost double the capacity offered by competitors. The services will also be offered with a 3-in-1 universal remote.

The set-top box is priced at Rs.7,490. Additionally in markets other than south, BIG TV is offering the set-top box for Rs.7,990 bundled with three months of Diamond Pack. In South, the set-top box is available for Rs.7,790  bundled with five months of value pack with a full bouquet of sports channels.

For existing subscribers, BIG TV is offering the set-top box for Rs.5,990.

The company ha lined up Rs.100 crore towards its HD DVR initiative.
