MTNL Plans to Rock VDSL Service With Exciting Tariff Plans
MTNL is planning to promote its newly launched Very High bit-rate Digital Subscribers Line (VDSL) broadband service by offering very exciting tariff plans.
With MTNL VDSL broadband service customers can enjoy 50-55 Mbps speed. Customers can also enjoy 20 Mbps downloading speed with VDSL.
MTNL's Executive Director J Gopal said, "We plan to offer attractive tariff plans for this service in about a couple of weeks. At present, VDSL facility is available at limited locations in the city. The company will take steps to provide this facility in maximum areas.”
According to former broadband plan, MTNL users can avail upto 45 GB free download per month for Rs. 9000. But according to new tariff plan, customers can experience 20 GB free download per month for Rs. 4999. After free download users will be charged 50 paisa per MB.
MTNL and BSNL also provide 3G services exclusively to its customers. "We have 35,000 3G customers in the city. If the number portability is launched before the 3G auction, we will be able to attract more customers from other service providers, using the first-mover advantage," Gopal said.
He added, "We will add another 300 towers within two-months. When our basic infrastructure is ready, we will come out with more offers to attract customers. As of now, we have 4.15-lakh broadband customers in Mumbai with around 20,000 additions every month.”
